Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2025 · Applies to the ChinaGo web demo and landing page.
1. Who we are
ChinaGo ("we", "our") is a travel assistant web application for foreign visitors to China. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
- AI conversations — the messages you send to the AI assistant are transmitted to our backend (Cloudflare Workers) and forwarded to a third-party AI provider (DeepSeek) to generate replies. We do not permanently store chat content on our own servers.
- Email address — if you submit the waitlist form, we store your email in Cloudflare KV to contact you about the product.
- Usage analytics — we record anonymous usage events (e.g. screen views, button clicks) in your browser's local storage for product improvement.
- Device data — standard technical data (IP address, browser type) may be processed by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and rate limiting.
3. How we use information
- To provide and improve the assistant and its features;
- To prevent abuse and enforce rate limits;
- To contact you about product updates (only if you submitted your email);
- To measure how the product is used.
4. Third-party services
We rely on the following providers, which have their own privacy policies:
- DeepSeek — AI responses;
- Cloudflare — hosting, security, storage;
- Booking.com / Klook / Airalo — affiliate links you may choose to click;
- Alipay / Apple Maps / Google Lens — when you use payment, navigation, or photo translation features.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage (not third-party advertising cookies) to remember your preferences (language, city, saved trips) and analytics events. This data stays on your device.
6. Your rights
Depending on your location (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data (e.g. your waitlist email). Contact us using the address below.
7. Data retention
Waitlist emails are kept until you ask us to delete them. Usage events in local storage remain on your device and can be cleared by clearing your browser data.
